Video: HPC and the Living Heart Project

In this video, HPE’s Jean-Luc Assor talk about their involvement in the Living Heart Project – and how HPC is explains how high performance computing is saving lives. The Stanford Living Heart Project is uniting industry-leading researchers, doctors, educators, and technology manufacturers to develop a new standard for drug testing with Hybrid HPC.

Video: UberCloud Containers on Kubernetes

Burak Yenier from the UberCloud gave this talk at the High Performance Container Workshop at ISC 2019. “This workshop will outline the current state of Linux Containers, what challenges are hindering the adoption in HPC/BigData and how containers can foster improvements when applied to the field of HPC, Big Data and AI in the mid- and long-term.”

Personalized Healthcare with High Performance Computing in the Cloud

Wolfgang Gentzsch from the UberCloud gave this talk at the HPC User Forum. “The concept of personalized medicine has its roots deep in genomic research. Indeed, the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 marked a critical milestone for the field. That project took $3 billion over 13 years. Today, thanks to technological progress, a similar sequencing task would take only about $4,000 and a few weeks. Such computational power is possible thanks to cloud technology, which eliminates the barriers to high-performance computing by removing software and hardware constraints.”

Innovative Use of HPC in the Cloud for AI, CFD, & LifeScience

Ebru Taylak from the UberCloud gave this talk at the Stanford HPC Conference. “A scalable platform such as the cloud, provides more accurate results, while reducing solution times. In this presentation, we will demonstrate recent examples of innovative use cases of HPC in the Cloud, such as, “Personalized Non-invasive Clinical Treatment of Schizophrenia and Parkinson’s” and “Deep Learning for Steady State Fluid Flow Prediction”. We will explore the challenges for the specific problems, demonstrate how HPC in the Cloud helped overcome these challenges, look at the benefits, and share the learnings.”

UberCloud Recognized with three HPC Industry Awards

Today the UberCloud announced that it has been recognized in three leading HPC industry awards for two of its innovative engineering projects in the cloud. “We are proud and humbled for the two prestigious Hyperion Innovation Excellence Awards and the HPCwire Editors’ Choice Award,” said Wolfgang Gentzsch, President of UberCloud, “Our innovative projects on UberCloud’s Cloud Simulation Platform showcase engineers, how they can benefit from the cloud to accelerate their simulations and innovate.”

HPC in the Hands of Every Engineer – With Software Containers

In this special guest feature, Wolfgang Gentzsch from The UberCloud writes that we’ve never been so close to ubiquitous computing for researchers and engineers. “High-performance computing continues to progress, but the next big step toward ubiquitous HPC is coming from software container technology based on Docker, facilitating software packaging and porting, ease of access and use, service stack automation and self-service, and simplifying software maintenance and support.”

Why HPC Cloud is your Competitive Advantage

In this special guest post, Thomas Francis writes that the Cloud is stepping up to answer the computational challenges of Ai and HPC. “Cloud delivers cost savings and efficiencies which are nice to have. But the reason companies are adopting the cloud is because suddenly it is a competitive advantage. And conversely, using your company’s precious resources on buying and managing aging hardware is a disadvantage.”

UberCloud Now Available in Microsoft Azure Marketplace

Today the UberCloud announced the availability of UberCloud consulting services in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, an online store providing applications and services for use on Microsoft Azure. UberCloud customers can now take advantage of the scalability, high availability, and security of Azure, with streamlined deployment and management. “UberCloud’s HPC software containers provide engineers with seamless and immediate access to the cloud,” said Wolfgang Gentzsch, President of TheUberCloud Inc.

UberCloud moves HPC Workloads to the Cloud with ANSYS Discovery Live

In this video, Thomas Francis from the UberCloud leads a discussion on how engineers and IT in the various organizations can benefit from Cloud computing. “UberCloud’s pre-packaged ANSYS cloud solution comes with a fully interactive desktop environment, accessed through a secure browser connection. You can leverage ANSYS’s powerful GUI-based tools such as Design Modeler and Workbench for iterative analysis, and you can also run batch or background jobs when needed using RSM.”

UberCloud Works with ANSYS and Azure to Optimize Bioreactors

Over at The UberCloud, Wolfgang Gentzsch writes that researchers are using HPC in the Cloud in a revolutionary new way for the design of bioreactors. “It’s amazing to think of all the products created in bioreactors. The medications we take, the beer we drink and the yogurt we eat are all made in bioreactors optimized for the manufacturing of these products. Unfortunately, optimizations take a lot of work and data. In a new HPC Cloud project, engineers from ANSYS with support from UberCloud performed an extensive Design of Experiments in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.”
