Accelerating the Alibaba Cloud with Intel Arria 10 FPGAs
The Alibaba Cloud has announced a pilot program with Intel for a cloud-based FPGA acceleration service with the goal of enabling customers to have virtual access to powerful compute resources in the cloud to help them manage business, scientific and enterprise data application workloads more effectively. “This service greatly adds to our value as a leading provider of highly scalable cloud computing and data management services that provide businesses with flexible, reliable connectivity.”
AMD GPUs to Speed Alibaba Cloud
Today AMD announced that the Alibaba Cloud will use AMD Radeon Pro GPU technology to help expand its cloud computing offerings and accelerate adoption of its cloud-based services. “The partnership between AMD and Alibaba Cloud will bring both of our customers more diversified, cloud-based graphic processing solutions. It is our vision to work together with leading technology firms like AMD to empower businesses in every industry with cutting-edge technologies and computing capabilities,” said Simon Hu, president of Alibaba Cloud.
AliCloud & Nvidia to Expand HPC and Deep Learning Market
Today AliCloud signed a strategic partnership with Nvidia to provide the first GPU-based cloud HPC platform in China. The partnership also plans to provide emerging companies support in areas of HPC and deep learning with comprehensive GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) computing. “Innovative companies in deep learning are one of our most important user communities,” said Zhang Wensong, chief scientist of AliCloud. “Together with Nvidia, AliCloud will use its strength in public cloud computing and experiences accumulated in HPC to offer emerging companies in deep learning greater support in the future.”
