At Penguin Solutions’ SC22 booth, we caught up with two of the company’s senior executives, Kevin Tubbs, Vice President of the Strategic Solutions Group, and Chief Technology Officer Phil Pokorny
Penguin’s booth was a busy place at the conference, offering, among things, live demos of:
- Its new HPC-in-the-Cloud control plane that enables point-and-click provisioning of elastic HPC/AI clusters on public cloud environments
- Penguin’s Scyld ClusterWare Cluster Management and Monitoring software on AMD EPYC 9004 hardware
- Its Scyld Cloud Workstation software, offering 1080p@60Hz refresh and optional local-to-remote USB device passthrough
- AI video analytics at the edge in action, utilizing real-time data from booth visitors
Tubbs also discussed Penguin’s recently announced success, in collaboration with NVIDIA, delivering Shell Oil an HPC-AI data center solution within a smaller footprint and using sustainable energy sources and immersion technology for lower power consumption.
