At ISC 2023, we caught up with DDN Vice President of Marketing Kurt Kuckein on new product offerings from the high performance storage and data management company.
A long-time HPC storage stalwart, many of the same challenges faced by HPC end users are now encountered by companies adopting AI – efficient access and transfer of data to AI compute clusters from massive data sets.
Kuckein delves into DDN’s recently announced AI400X2 QLC and hybrid storage arrays that combine DDN’s parallel file system with novel client-side data compression, increasing performance by 10x, growing effective capacity by up to 15x and reducing data center footprint by 2x. Kuckein said it’s an offering that eliminates complex networking and avoids heavily bottlenecked performance found in other data storage products.
He also shares his views on why DDN is well-positioned to provide solutions for the explosive growth in AI adoption, along with future product directions for DDN.
