In this video from SC19, Stephen Simms from OpenSFS and Frank Baetke from EOFS announce the release of the Lustre trademark back to the Lustre community.
We are very pleased to have reached such an agreement with Seagate and are exited that from now on the Lustre community represented by EOFS and OpenSFS equally owns all the assets related to the URL lustre.org as well as the word LUSTRE and its design marks,” said Hugo Falter, Executive Director of EOFS and Frank Baetke, Chairman of the EOFS Administrative Council.
OpenSFS was founded in 2010 to advance Lustre development, ensuring it remains vendor-neutral, open, and free. Since its inception, OpenSFS has been responsible for advancing Lustre and delivering new releases on behalf of the open source community, initially via centralized and ongoing funding initiatives. Presently, OpenSFS harnesses the power of collaborative development to fuel innovation and growth of Lustre worldwide through working-groups, events, and coordinating dialogue between Lustre vendors and users.
