CAMPBELL, Calif. – October 27, 2020 – WekaIO (Weka), the leader in high-performance, scalable file storage for data-intensive applications, today announced a transformative cloud-native storage solution underpinned by the world’s fastest file system, WekaFS, that unifies and simplifies the data pipeline for performance-intensive workloads and accelerated DataOps. Weka has developed reference architectures (RAs) with leading […]
Panasas PanFS 8: Architectural Overview
The PanFS® parallel file system delivers the highest performance among competitive HPC storage systems at any capacity, and takes the complexity and unreliability of typical high-performance computing (HPC) storage systems off your hands, and it does so using commodity hardware at competitive price points. In this white paper, we’re going to take a “breadth-first” tour of the architecture of PanFS, looking at its key components then diving deep into the main benefits.
Registration Opens for BeeGFS Virtual Community Meeting
ThinkParQ will host the annual BeeGFS Virtual Community Meeting on World Bee Day, May 20, 2020. BeeGFS is a parallel cluster file system, developed with a strong focus on performance and designed for very easy installation and management. “Following the overwhelming success of our inaugural BeeGFS Virtual Community Meeting that took place last October, the team is excited with the content we are preparing to share with the community, and we are currently finalizing talks with innovative BeeGFS users who will present alongside us in May,” says Frank Herold, CEO, ThinkParQ.
Panasas ActiveStor Solution: Architectural Overview
Our friends over at Panasas have released this timely new white paper “Panasas ActiveStor Solution: Architectural Overview.” The Panasas ActiveStor architecture running the PanFS storage operating system breaks through the performance constraints of other parallel file systems.
Panasas HPC Storage Goes from Fast to Ludicrous Mode at SC19
In this video from SC19, Curtis Anderson from Panasas announces company’s new the Panasas ActiveStor Ultra appliance. Anderson goes on to offers a sneak peek at the company’s vision for the high-performance data center of the future where AI and low latency applications converge with traditional HPC workloads. Coined Ludicrous Mode, this NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) layer is added to the 3-tier data placement inside PanFS to create the most economical approach for addressing large data sets and a wide variety of high-performance workloads.
DAOS: Scale-Out Software-Defined Storage for HPC/Big Data/AI Convergence
As an all-new parallel file system, DAOS will be a key component of the the upcoming Aurora supercomputer coming to Argonne National Laboratory in 2021. “DAOS is an open source software-defined scale-out object store that provides high bandwidth, low latency, and high I/O operations per second (IOPS) storage containers to HPC applications. It enables next-generation data-centric workflows that combine simulation, data analytics, and AI.”
