Call for Submissions: HPC Innovation Excellence Awards
Today Hyperion Research today invited members of the worldwide high performance computing community to submit entries for the next round of HPC Innovation Excellence Awards. “The program’s main goals are to showcase scientific success stories and return on investment (ROI) successes involving HPC; to help other users better understand the benefits of adopting HPC and justify HPC investments; to demonstrate the value of HPC to funding bodies and politicians; and to expand public support for increased HPC investments.”
Berkeley Lab-led Collaborations win HPC Innovation Awards
Two Berkeley Lab-led projects—Celeste and Galactos—were honored with Hyperion Research’s 2017 HPC Innovation Excellence Awards for “the outstanding application of HPC for business and scientific achievements.” The HPC Innovation Excellence awards are designed to showcase return on investment and success stories involving HPC; to help other users better understand the benefits of adopting HPC; and to help justify HPC investments, including for small and medium-size enterprises.

Hyperion Research recently announced the newest recipients of the HPC Innovation Excellence Awards. “High performance computing contributes enormously to scientific progress, economic competitiveness, national security and the quality of human life,” said Bob Sorensen, Hyperion Research vice president of research and technology. “The winners of these awards have been judged to be among the world’s best at exploiting HPC to achieve important real-world innovations.”
Argonne Researchers Receive IDC’s HPC Innovation Excellence Award
A team of researchers from the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory, in collaboration with scientists from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and three nuclear reactor design centers in the United States and Europe, received the HPC Innovation Excellence Award at SC14.
